I already checked RT settings, and all the extensions (minus PNG) were already selected to show. Using RawTherapee /64bits on Windows10/64. If there is something that „corrupts” the files, I’d like to know (but they are still usable by any other program: LR, Picasa or the Photos app integrated in Win10). No CR2, PEF, CR2, RW2 or X3F file is showing in the integrated RawTherapee file browser. List of cameras: Canon 350D, 30D, 5D (classic), 40D Nikon D50, D700 Sigma SD14 Pentax K-x Panasonic G5, Panasonic FZ1000. Certainly ,I will prefer a format that save in 16 bit.Same thing happening to me with any raw file at first I was thinking that only CR2 (Canon) files don’t show, but I also have a mirrorless Panasonic and I owned previously various other camera brands no RAW showing up in RT file explorer. If I click a DNG file to open it, the message that Photoshop would display is "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document".ĥ- What should I do (or download) so as to enable my Photoshop CS to open the pictures in DNG format? Do I have for example to look for an older DNG convertor so as to match the age of my Photoshop CS?Ħ- RAW Therapee can open my NEF files and do some corrections and save them in one of the following formats: JPeg (8bit), TIFF (8bit or 16 bit), and/or PNG (8bit or 16 bit). It is not even listed in the list of formats that it can open (in the open fil window). I am using a PC and not Mac, and my operating system is Windows XP. If you have a mac you can open them in iphoto. You can then save it as a Tiff and open it in photoshop if needed.Ĥ-Im sure there's free programs that will open the NEF's. Basically the way it works is Photoshop CS will work with Camera raw version 2.xx, CS2 works with Camera raw 3.xx, CS3 works with Camera raw 4.xx, and CS4 works with Camera raw 5.xx.ģ-yes NX2 will read your NEF files and do all the adjustments you need. You would need to upgrade to at least CS2 and Camera raw verison 3.6. Camera raw 2.4 will not read D80 NEF files. Also, the latest verison of Camera raw is only compatable with CS4.Ģ-camera raw is part of CS and updates are free, however, CS is only compatable with Camera raw version 2.4. Therefore, CS is version 8, CS2 is version 9, CS3 is version 10 and CS4 is version 11. Each version since then has added a new number, ie CS2, CS3, CS4. After Photoshop 7.0 they started to call it Photoshop CS. I cant answer all your questions but I'll answer as many as possible.ġ- No CS Version 8.0 is not CS8. I would be thankful if you could send me replies to my enquiries or send me any advice about how to overcome this eternal problem? etc?) and amending them in Photoshop?Ĥ- Is there a free program that does the job (e.g. I have the following enquiries:ġ- Is Photoshop CS Version 8.0 means Photoshop CS8? If so, how it is not compatible with the latest ACRAW plugin which is made for PHotoshop CS4?Ģ- Is Adobe Camera Raw a part of Photoshop Cs Version 8? or it is a separate software that I have to pay in order to get it?ģ- If I have to pay for any software to sort out my problems, does Capture NX2 do all the tasks that I need to do on the NEF files before saving them in TIFF format (exposure correction, white balance correction, noise removal. I replaced the plugin in adobe Photoshop folder as was written in various threads, but Photoshop give me a message that the plugin is not compatible with the Photoshop version that I got. I downloaded the ACR last update (ADobe Camera Raw 5.3 from Adobe homepage) an the Agobe DNG converter. I read many threads about how to open NEF photos in Photoshop CS2, 3, and 4. I have got D80 camera and started recently to shoot in the NEF format.
